This role is accountable for the coordination and integration of $100 million dollars worth of process equipment in close collaboration with the Process Design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between Process Design and Equipment Engineering, ensuring alignment of equipment scope, technical assumptions, and engineering deliverables.
  • Translate process design documentation—including PFDs, P&IDs, and heat and material balances—into detailed equipment specifications, execution packages, and clearly defined battery limits and interface responsibilities.
  • Lead equipment engineering activities performed by third-party engineering firms and consultants, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, schedules, and quality expectations.
  • Partner with Procurement to develop equipment RFQs, conduct technical bid evaluations, resolve vendor clarifications, and coordinate vendor documentation throughout the procurement process.
  • Oversee supplier quality activities by conducting shop visits, supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), validating equipment design and fabrication, and resolving technical deviations.
  • Coordinate equipment layouts, constructability reviews, installation strategies, lifting plans, transportation logistics, and tie-in activities with Construction Management to support efficient field execution.
  • Maintain equipment engineering action, issue, and risk registers while proactively identifying technical risks, resolving interface issues, and escalating critical concerns to project leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership during construction, mechanical completion, and project turnover while supporting project controls through engineering status updates, cost and schedule alignment, gate reviews, and monthly reporting.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or a related Engineering discipline required.
  • 15+ years of experience in equipment engineering, process equipment, or project engineering supporting large capital projects within chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments required.
  • Proven experience coordinating equipment scope and technical deliverables with Process Engineering teams and multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success working with international or distributed engineering teams while effectively coordinating engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and OEMs.
  • Strong knowledge of process equipment including reactors, pressure vessels, pumps, centrifuges, dryers, packaged utility systems, and related industrial equipment.
  • Experience developing equipment specifications, scopes of work, technical documentation, vendor evaluations, and equipment procurement packages.
  • Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), vendor document management, constructability reviews, mechanical completion, and field execution support.
  • Excellent communication, organization, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate technical issues, resolve conflicts, and align project execution with cost, schedule, GMP, and ISPE Baseline Guide requirements.
