ADP is hiring an Accountant.

As an Accountant supporting ADP's Trust Accounting organization, you'll help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial activities associated with client funds through reconciliations, financial analysis, reporting, and issue resolution. In this role, you'll maintain accounting records, prepare and analyze reports, investigate discrepancies, and support key accounting processes that help safeguard the movement and reconciliation of client funds.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious. You'll be comfortable working with financial data, researching variances, identifying root causes, and applying prior learning to resolve issues effectively. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, initiative, a willingness to learn specialized trust accounting processes, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Responsible for accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements.
  • Classify, examine, and analyze accounting records and prepare related financial reports and statements.
  • Prepare specialized financial reports (e.g., Liability reports, Receivable reports, Volume reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries into accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Regularly provide guidance and training to less experienced Accountants.

 

Experience. You have 3+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role, including accounting, account reconciliations, financial operations, and financial analysis.

 

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • General accounting experience or demonstrated accounting knowledge, with the ability to perform complex accounting activities and analyze financial information.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing financial data, researching discrepancies, investigating variances, and identifying root causes to resolve financial issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience performing account reconciliations and resolving exceptions or out-of-balance conditions.
  • Proven ability to learn complex processes, apply prior knowledge to new situations, and work independently to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership, with the ability to proactively investigate issues, seek solutions, and contribute to team success.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and process improvements in a changing business environment.
  • You'll have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent.

For Additional Comfortability:

  • 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end accounting processes.
  • Experience working in financial services, banking, payroll, trust accounting, or another highly regulated environment.
