About the role

This is a senior, hands-on technical role where you'll design and build integrations while providing technical leadership across the team. You'll work across the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to delivery and operational handover. You'll be a trusted integration expert for architects, stakeholders and delivery teams, helping shape solutions that are scalable, secure and built to last.

You'll also play an important role in growing Powerco's integration capability. From mentoring other Integration Specialists and establishing standards, to influencing vendor-delivered solutions and improving engineering practices, you'll help shape how integration is delivered across the organisation.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Own integration delivery end-to-end

  • Engage from early discovery through to solution design, hands-on build, testing, deployment and operational handover
  • Design and build integrations across enterprise applications, cloud services and data platforms- API, event-driven, batch and file-based
  • Shape solution options and integration designs in partnership with Solution Architects, BAs and stakeholders

Act as Powerco's integration subject matter expert

  • Provide platform, API, authentication and system-connectivity guidance to delivery teams and stakeholders
  • Contribute to technology evaluations, architecture discussions and platform direction
  • Advise on integration patterns that align with enterprise standards

Build supportable solutions

  • Design monitoring, alerting, logging and recovery into every solution
  • Ensure documentation, as-built artefacts and handover materials are complete and clear enough for someone else to extend or support
  • Provide Level 3 support and root-cause analysis for production integration issues

Improve the integration practice

  • Establish and maintain integration standards, naming conventions and documentation requirements
  • Build reusable patterns and components that reduce delivery effort across projects
  • Contribute governance input and design artefacts that raise the bar for the wider practice

Achieve consistent and positive vendor outcomes

  • Provide technical leadership and design review on vendor-delivered integration projects
  • Ensure externally built solutions meet Powerco standards for security, maintainability and supportability
  • Support project teams through design reviews, testing and deployment activities

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience

  • 7+ years in integration, software engineering or enterprise application delivery
  • Delivering enterprise integrations in complex environments
  • Working within agile delivery teams
  • Engaging business stakeholders, architects and external vendors
  • Leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers

Technical experience

  • Integration platforms: Boomi, SAP BTP Integration Suite, FME or similar
  • API design and management
  • Event-driven architectures

  • Messaging and asynchronous integration patterns
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Security, authentication and identity integration
