QualificationsRole Summary
The Regional Driver position requires ability to stay overnight; often returning home every other night. This is an hourly position and paid weekly. Regional Drivers are responsible for the safe and compliant transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials via tankers and dry vans. This position requires adherence to all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and environmental requirements while providing professional service to customers.
Job Duties
• Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to designated disposal, treatment, and recycling facilities.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate inspection records.
•Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
• Complete and maintain all required DOT documentation, including logs, manifests, inspections, and transportation records.
• Operate and maintain Electronic Logging Devices (ELD's) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all shipping papers, manifests, and other required documentation are accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
• Follow all safety procedures related to the handling and transportation of waste materials.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and facility personnel regarding pickups, deliveries, and any transportation issues
Requirements
• Current Class A driver's license with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
• Clean DMV driving record
• 2 years commercial driving experience including the completion of driver logs.
• 2 years' experience driving/operating semi tractors, tankers and box vans is preferred.
• Working knowledge of DMV and DOT regulations pertaining to hazardous waste transportation.
• Capability to crawl, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and reach.
• Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing.
• Being able to sit and drive for long periods of time.
• Capacity to lift 50 pounds several times a day.
