How you’ll contribute
A Billing Specialist who excels in this role:
- Manage accounts receivable by monitoring, researching, and resolving outstanding insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Review claim submissions daily to verify successful transmission and acceptance by insurance payers, resolving rejections as needed.
- Prepare, submit, and resubmit accurate electronic and paper claims for primary and secondary insurance carriers.
- Post insurance payments, investigate denials, and make billing corrections to maximize reimbursement and minimize claim delays.
- Communicate with patients, provider offices, and insurance representatives to resolve billing questions and outstanding account issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines to ensure accurate, compliant billing practices.
- Collaborate with office staff to resolve billing challenges, improve revenue cycle performance, and deliver exceptional customer service.

What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- One to two years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle, finance, or a healthcare business office preferred.
- Knowledge of medical billing, insurance claims processing, accounts receivable, and payer reimbursement practices.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and regulatory billing requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service and build positive working relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
