Tennis Channel’s Senior Broadcast Operations Coordinator will play an integral role in facilitating the proper running of the Broadcast Operations Center. Working closely with the entire team of Broadcast Operations Coordinators and cooperating with production, digital, promotions, traffic (ad sales), the Fast Group, graphics etc., the Senior Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the daily task of maintaining Tennis Channel’s Day of air workflows.

The Senior Coordinator will oversee the daily broadcast of Tennis Channel’s linear network. They will pay special attention to playlist automation, programming schedules, and air server records. The Senior Coordinator will also oversee ingest/segmentation of files for server playback, monitoring on-air signal including closed captioning, and liaising with our signal provider and affiliates to ensure confidence return. They will need to monitor communications via email, Teams chat & the RTS production lines during their shift. The Senior Coordinator may also need to run commercial breaks if the Master Control Operator needs to step away from their station.

The Senior Coordinator may also be assigned to assist with the Fast Channels operated by the BOC, Tennis Channel 2 & Pickleball TV. If assigned to one of the Fast Channels the Senior Coordinator will pay special attention to playlist automation, programming schedules, monitoring on-air signal including close captioning and running commercial breaks. 

This role is onsite in Santa Monica, CA. 

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor the on-air signal and ensure the highest quality delivery of content to viewers. 

  • Schedule on-air content as directed by the programming and production departments. 

  • Accurately route and record content to the air server for playback. 

  • Perform thorough sync and fax checks with onsite personnel prior to live shows and events. 

  • Facilitate the accurate insertion of commercial content during live broadcasts and server playback. 

  • Utilize a strong understanding of common broadcast signal issues to identify and resolve problems, including audio levels, distortion, format discrepancies, sync issues, and video quality concerns. 

 

Additionally, you will:

  • Ingest content for air as needed. 

  • Ensure closed captions are present on outbound feeds. 

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to engineering when appropriate. 

  • Apply transmission standard operating procedures (SOPs) as they relate to master control operations. 

  • Train new hires at various stages of onboarding and development, as directed by the Broadcast Operations Center (BOC) manager or supervisor.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $32.50 to $36.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
