The laboratory is seeking a motivated and detail oriented research assistant to support studies focused on pancreatic biology and disease mechanisms. This position offers hands on experience in molecular, cellular, and animal research within a collaborative and dynamic scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Isolate and culture primary pancreatic acinar cells from mouse models.
- Perform molecular and biochemical techniques, including protein extraction, protein quantification, SDS PAGE, immunoblotting, and PCR genotyping.
- Maintain and monitor mouse breeding colonies, including ear clipping and genotyping procedures.
- Assist with animal studies of experimental pancreatitis, including injections, tissue collection, and sample processing.
- Prepare cell and tissue homogenates and conduct enzymatic activity assays using fluorogenic techniques.
- Perform immunohistology, tissue preparation, and imaging using light and fluorescence microscopy.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, analyze results, and contribute to ongoing research projects.

Required:- High school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent skills in isolation of functionally active pancreatic acinar cells
- Ecellent skills in cerulein model of pancreatitis and tissue collection
- Excellent skills in ELISA and spectrofluorometer and spectrophotometer operations
- Excellent skills in biochemistry and molecular biology procedures including immunoblot, mRNA isolations, and real time PCR procedures
- Excellent skills in breeding colonies and mice genotyping
- Excellent skills in immunohistology procedure and microscope operation
- Excellent skills in computer and software operations
