Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) seeks an experienced and organized Office Manager & Administrative Lead to provide administrative and project management support to the Office of the Dean while serving as a lead resource, mentor, and trainer for administrative staff across the College's departments. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for Dean's Office operations, manage a wide range of administrative duties requiring confidentiality, sound judgment, and independent reasoning, and serve as the go-to resource for administrative staff throughout CAS on matters of office procedure, systems, and professional development.

 Qualifications 

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Two or more years of office management experience in a higher education or similarly complex organization
  3. Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and management, and the ability to apply this knowledge to effectively manage daily office operations across multiple departments.
  4. Experience in training, mentoring, or developing other administrative staff.
  5. Skill in using electronic and computerized office equipment and systems.
  6. Experience and ability to plan, organize, and work efficiently, accurately, and independently, while exercising sound judgement.
  7. Experience exercising discretion with confidential matters and dealing tactfully with others.
  8. Experience handling numerous and complex assignments simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master's degree 
  2. Ability to coordinate the efforts of others in accomplishing assigned work objectives, including in a lead capacity without direct supervisory authority
  3. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty members, staff, and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and experiences

Working Location

This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities, which may require occasional/frequent/regular work on evenings and weekends.
