Position Summary:
To coordinate, implement, and plan surgical care to persons with breast health concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
1. High School Diploma.
2. LPN or MA license/certification required in the state of TN.
Workplace Experience:
Coordination of Surgical Care Delivery for Urogynecology
Equipment and Skills Training:
Standard patient care equipment for services provided. The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of setting. Equipment: Network Computer System
Physical Environment:
An Oncology medical/surgical unit and outpatient clinic whose patient population ranges consists of adults > 18yrs of age.
Physical Effort:
1. Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
2. Able to stand/work for up to eight hours a day.
3. Ability to travel when needed to area Breast Cancer functions.
3. Able to lift with assistance up to 50 lbs.
Key Results:
Responsible for intake of new patient referrals and obtaining necessary records and imaging needed for surgical consult
Scheduling and preparing appointments as requested by surgeon
Responsible for coordination of surgery follow-up with providers
Pre op education patients scheduled for surgery
Organizes surgical appointment needs and the sequence of treatments to assure the physician can comply with the treatment plan.
Provides providers to whom the patient is referred with timely data on patient progress.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with key internal and external customers. Collaborates with clinical office and other staff to optimize patient experience.
