Construction delivers an extensive range of specialist services in the areas of infrastructure, storm water drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades, land remediation, asset intelligence, lighting and facility services.
The Roles
We are seeking experienced engineering leaders to join Brisbane City Council in senior management roles responsible for some of the city’s most critical infrastructure assets. These opportunities will see you lead the inspection, assessment, planning for maintenance and renewal of major road corridor, drainage and waterways programs, using condition data, risk-based prioritisation and technical judgement to inform asset decisions. You will oversee technical scoping activities that define maintenance and capital works requirements, ensuring Brisbane’s infrastructure remains safe, resilient and fit for the future.
Working closely with executive leaders, asset owners, stakeholders and delivery partners, you’ll drive strategic outcomes across large maintenance and capital programs, lead high-performing technical teams and influence key decisions that shape Brisbane’s infrastructure network. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- lead the planning and prioritisation of major maintenance and capital works programs across road corridor, drainage and waterways assets
- provide strategic leadership and direction to multidisciplinary technical teams, driving performance, capability and continuous improvement
- manage complex asset management issues, risks, budgets and program performance to achieve high-quality outcomes
- build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, asset owners, contractors and community
- contribute to strategic planning, governance and business improvement initiatives that enhance infrastructure service delivery across Brisbane.
To be successful you will have:
- tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, with RPEQ registration or the ability to obtain and maintain professional accreditation
- demonstrated leadership experience managing large infrastructure networks, maintenance or capital works programs within a complex environment
- strong knowledge of asset management principles and their application to public infrastructure networks
- exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively at executive level
- proven experience leading teams, driving performance and implementing business improvement initiatives
