Role Overview
An experienced Project Manager is required to lead and coordinate the successful delivery of a Data Migration Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, monitoring, and delivering project activities while ensuring adherence to scope, budget, timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
The Project Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and project resources to ensure the successful migration of critical business data and supporting applications. The role forms part of a multidisciplinary project team delivering business analysis, data management, data migration, testing, and functional application support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of the Data Migration Project.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
- Coordinate project resources and activities across multiple workstreams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure delivery within agreed timelines and budget.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Facilitate communication between business users, technical teams, vendors, and management.
- Conduct project meetings, status updates, and steering committee reporting.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and project management best practices.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and change control processes.
- Ensure successful coordination of data migration planning, execution, testing, and deployment activities.
- Monitor project quality and ensure deliverables meet business requirements.
- Support stakeholder engagement and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or higher in one of the following:- Project Management
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Other ICT-related qualification
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- PRINCE2 Practitioner/Foundation
- Equivalent Project Management certification
- Agile Certification
- Scrum Certification
- Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience.
- At least 3 years' experience managing Data Migration projects.
