THE ROLE:
Lead analytical projects across Range, Space, Price & Promotion, translating complex product, customer and commercial data into actionable recommendations that improve ranging, pricing, promotional effectiveness, space allocation and overall business performance.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Project Leadership: Lead analytical projects from business question through to recommendation, managing scope, analytical approach, delivery timelines and stakeholder communication.
Commercial Analytics: Interpret data and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner to drive data-driven decision making. Deliver deep-dive commercial insight and recommendations that explain product, pricing, promotional and trading performance.
Advanced Analytics: Apply statistical and analytical techniques such as forecasting, clustering, elasticity analysis and promotional measurement. Working knowledge of data science techniques including random forest, k-means and linear regression.
Optimisation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimisation. Support initiatives across ranging, store space allocation, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness and trading performance.
Mentoring & Quality: Support and mentor analysts, providing guidance on analytical approach, code quality, data interpretation, documentation and stakeholder-ready outputs.
Collaborate: Support a given analytical principle and deliver an agreed analytics strategy. Create stakeholder-ready dashboards, reporting and insight packs while ensuring outputs are accurate, documented and governed.
Development: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in retail analytics, pricing, promotions, forecasting, ranging and analytical techniques.
WHO YOU ARE:
Advanced SQL capability with experience in Python.
Experience working with product, pricing, promotional, customer and store datasets. (4+ years)
Experience applying advanced analytical techniques including forecasting, regression analysis, clustering, elasticity analysis and promotional measurement.
Strong communication, presentation and data storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear and commercially relevant recommendations.
Good understanding of pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, range optimisation, demand forecasting and retail performance measures.
Experience mentoring analysts and leading analytical projects from brief through to implementation.
Knowledge of data quality, governance and documentation standards.
