Stifel Europe

Stifel (NYSE: SF) is a leading, fast-growing, sector-driven investment bank with a global workforce of over 9,000 professionals across the US and major European financial centers. Following the strategic acquisition of Bryan, Garnier & Co in 2025, Stifel achieved critical mass in European investment banking, positioning itself as a premier mid-market powerhouse. We partner with clients throughout their corporate lifecycle, providing flawless execution in M&A advisory and access to public and private capital.

Global Technology Group (GTG)

As Stifel’s largest industry vertical, the group leverages a global team with deep domain expertise spanning Software, Climate & Industrial Technology, Internet & Digital Media, Technology-Enabled Services, and Fintech. We are a full-service leader, frequently recognized for topping global league tables in mid-market M&A transactions. Our team of specialists provides sophisticated advisory services including M&A, private placements, IPOs, and debt raisings to high-growth companies and technology-focused institutional investors.

For an ambitious professional, our Munich office represents a rare opportunity to do more than just execute deals; it is a chance to actively scale a market-leading technology franchise during its most dynamic phase of European expansion where your individual contribution to our sector growth genuinely moves the needle.

Duties & Responsibilities

At Stifel, interns take an active role within deal teams, contributing to mandates throughout the DACH region as well as to complex cross‑border international transactions, gaining exposure to high‑quality mandates and collaborating with teams across offices. The internship provides insight into all phases of M&A advisory, offering a steep and rewarding learning curve. High‑performing interns may also be considered for a full‑time analyst offer upon successful completion of the internship, depending on business requirements and availability.

  • Transaction execution: Support on multiple mandates, including the preparation of Information Memorandums (IMs), management presentations, and board-level materials
  • Financial Modeling: Assist in performing a company’s financial analyses, modelling and valuation (DCF, trading peers, transaction comps, etc.)
  • Process management: Assisting the deal team in the execution of transactions (due diligences, Q&A, process tracking)
  • Strategic research: Help perform in-depth industry research and financial benchmarking to support deal execution and origination efforts
  • Other: Occasional tasks such as corporate presentations, sector screenings, investors' lists, etc.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude and the stamina to thrive in a high-energy, high-velocity team environment.

  • Well-rounded with an outstanding academic record, ideally nearing completion of an academic degree (Master’s degree considered favorably)
  • Strong interest in investment banking and the Tech sector
  • Ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting a company and its management
  • Demonstrated capacity to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • A keen interest in leveraging bespoke AI platforms. Stifel has invested heavily in modern data architecture and AI-driven banking workflows to provide a competitive edge in advisory
  • High emotional maturity and the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Business fluency in German (C2 level) and professional proficiency in English are essential for this role
