College/Career Coach Job Number:  P173624 Posting Date: Jul 28, 2026, 5:39:28 PMPrimary Location: North/Northwest Side-5501 North Kedzie Avenue (Northside College Prep)Salary Range: $41,700.00 to $58,400.00   JOB DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Summary of Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe College and Career Coach is responsible for implementing strategies that prepares Chicago Public School students for post-secondary opportunities. Chief among the responsibilities is to provide direct service to every high school students using a set of curricular and enrichment strategies delivered through the domains of awareness, readiness, access and success to promote long-term preparation for post-secondary transition. 
Principal Accountabilities
1. Increase college and career options for students by implementing key strategies that align with the Department of College and Career Preparation (DCCP)2. Develop implementation plans that align with the DCCP score card and metrics 3. Collaborate with Specialist and higher education officials to build partnerships that supports matriculation and retention of CPS students4. Conduct ongoing college access workshops for all grade levels that advises students about college and career opportunities5. Participate in ongoing coach and counselor integrated support strategies using the American School Counselors (ASCA) implementation plan   6. Conduct monthly workshops that informs and prepares students in 9-12 for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)7. Conduct comprehensive workshops that prepares students for the What’s Next IL Guideway completions8. Coordinate job shadow, career speaker and career service events that promote college and career preparation.9. Support the recruit of students for Career and Technical Education (CTE) for citywide CTE academies 10. Recruit students for CTE internships and support employment opportunities 11. Coordinate with CTE teachers and counselors to ensure that students complete soft-skills requirements necessary to meeting work ready criteria 12. Organize and conduct college tours for 9-12 grade levels13. Conduct workshops that focus on ACT/SAT test preparation for students   14. Conduct workshops that focus on writing, time management and study skills     15. Attend monthly DCCP Coach professional development meetings16. Participate in scheduled planning sessions to develop key tools and strategies that promote the departments work17. Organize college and career fairs Qualifications for Job:Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum bachelor’s degree in related field, supplemented by three years of relevant work experience. Candidate must have a car, valid driver’s license, and availability to work occasional evenings and weekends. 
Skills and abilities: Candidates possess the knowledge, principals and practices of academic and career development; must maintain the ability to establish effective working relationship with students, parents and school personnel as well as representatives from universities, businesses, government and community-based organization. 
Be proficient in Windows Operating System and MS Office; strong internet skills; ability to develop and maintain partnership; ability to maintain good relationships; must be a team player.
Experience and Education Required: Possess a BA degree with 3-4 year of youth development and programming experiences.
