The Worldwide Aviation Support Services (WASS) program, an AAR business, headquartered in Rockledge, FL, provides global, world-class expeditionary and conventional aviation solutions to the US Department of State Air Wing.
Role Description:
The Supply Technician provides logistics support for aviation maintenance and operational activities. The incumbent assists with inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehousing, property accountability, and supply operations to ensure timely availability of aircraft parts, tools, equipment, and materials.
Key Responsibility:
- Receive, inspect, store, issue, and inventory aviation parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and accountability documentation.
- Process shipping and receiving transactions.
- Basic understanding of electronic databases, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute company standard operating procedures.
- Support warehousing and property management activities.
- Able to follow verbal instructions from supervisor and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Basic working knowledge of receiving dock operations, reading invoices, making a three-way match between documentation and material.
- Monitoring damage, correct products and vendor errors.
- Knowledge of hazardous material, handling procedures and Material Safety Data Sheet, MSDS, HAZMAT concerns and reporting.
- Safety conscientious and willing to participate in the team safety culture.
- Willing to speak up to ensure safe operations in all areas.
- A willingness to be flexible and move to areas of logistics where work is a priority.
- Essential warehousing and storage knowledge including but not limited to location schematics, separation of material, picking material, transacting material movements in the Material Inventory System, MIS.
- Fundamental transportation requirements such as packing and crating to safeguard material and aircraft parts.
- Loading transport vehicles, tying down material, communicating with a spotter and other required transporting duties.
- Readiness to begin learning the shipping process.
- Ability to learn on the job, study and eventually test for ITAR and Hazmat certifications.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED or Local equivalent. Minimum 5 years of logistics or supply experience.
- Ability to obtain a Department of State MRPT or Embassy background investigation.
- Exercises judgement within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- English Level II proficiency Proficient Microsoft skills, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point. Good communication skills are a must.
Preferred
- 6K - 10K Forklift Operator.
- Experience with FedEx, DHL, or UPS software systems governing the assignment of Air Waybills, AWB.
- Dangerous Goods training.
