Description:

 

The Accounting Analyst supports the Controller and Accounting Supervisor in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for assisting with month-end and quarter-end close processes, financial reporting, audits, financial analysis, and general accounting functions. The Accounting Analyst also provides support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities to help ensure efficient cash flow management and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications 

What you will be responsible for:

•    Assist the Controller and Accounting Supervisor with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
•    Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
•    Assist with quarterly financial reporting and analysis of financial results, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
•    Prepare financial reports and analyses for management to support strategic decision-making.
•    Provide support during internal and external financial audits by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to auditor requests.
•    Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
•    Assist with Accounts Receivable reporting, customer account reconciliations, aging reports, and collection activities.
•    Support Accounts Payable functions, including statement reconciliations, invoice processing, and vendor communication to ensure timely and accurate payments.
•    Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
•    Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
•    Assist with special projects, budgeting, forecasting, and other financial initiatives as assigned.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial reporting accuracy.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
•    1 -3 years of accounting or financial analysis experience preferred.
•    Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
•    Experience with month-end closing, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
•    Experience with external and internal audits.
