Summary

Reporting directly to the Voter Registration Supervisor, responsible for administrative duties related to voter records, voter registration, and the election process.

Examples of duties
  • Processes voter registration applications and performs data entry duties including cancelling, entering, and updating voter information
  • Processes incomplete or rejected voter registration applications
  • Processes mailing notices to voter regarding incomplete or rejected voter registration applications
  • Process required notices to voters and coordinates mailing of notices, as needed
  • Communicates frequently via telephone, e-mail, and in person with poll workers and the general public 
  • Serves as a primary contact for the election Judge’s hotline and assists with complex issues from elections judges and staff
  • Assists during election with elections-specific tasks
  • Cross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment


IRREGULAR HOURS

  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • One (1) year of clerical experience including data entry and customer service
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Prior experience working in Elections and/or public-sector environment
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience including data entry and customer service experience
