Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in go-to-market strategy, sales operations, strategy and operations, management consulting, finance, or program management.
  • Experience managing business activities (e.g., annual business planning, headcount management, running business reviews, or goal setting).
  • Experience with data analysis, generating data-driven insights to influence decision-making
  • Experience working with executive-level clients or stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to manage local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience tailoring and delivering compelling reporting and presentations by audience, asking strategic questions, and leading conversations that drive results and efficiencies.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing without authority to drive operational excellence, successful delivery of priority initiatives, process improvements, and change management.
  • Knowledge of enterprise customers and cloud technologies, products, and market landscape.

About the job

The Strategy and Operations team is involved in almost every aspect of Google Cloud Japan's Go-To-Market (GTM) activities, leading the planning and implementation of the global GTM strategy including measuring and reporting on results and then working with the GTM to refine and improve our approach and drive growth that outpaces our competitors.

The Google Cloud Go-to-Market Strategy and Operations team acts as trusted advisors, partnering with Sales, Customer Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Partners, and Google Cloud Consulting to plan, strategize, and run the business in a transformational way.

As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for defining, landing, and executing on our strategic priorities to drive operational excellence, business growth, and productivity. You will be responsible for helping with planning, goal setting, territory design, expansion plans, and managing the rhythm of business activities. You will provide business insights, ensure cross-functional alignment, drive strategic partnerships, and execute new initiatives. The organization's goal is to align company priorities with day-to-day operations and evolve early-stage ideas into future growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Influence executive-level decision-making around core business decisions, such as prioritization of growth opportunities, through scalable and actionable analytical insights to increase productivity.
  • Be a trusted advisor to your organization and their leadership team, communicating, structuring, and problem-solving complex and ambiguous business challenges and supporting organization priorities.
  • Lead and orchestrate strategic initiatives that span across enterprise sales, partner sales, customer engineers, solution sales and marketing.
  • Run and improve operations by launching new programs, setting goals, streamlining processes, automating tasks, identifying opportunities across the business, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Organize the design and implementation of business cadence to deliver effective operations and achieve key milestones.
