Job Description

Job Purpose

Monitor and verify implementation of the approved quality-management system across transmission line, substation and HVDC works, including review of ITPs, material certificates, design-validation documents and dispatch-release documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review contractor Project Quality Plans, Quality Assurance Plans, ITPs and inspection procedures.
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes and standards.
  • Review material approval requests, manufacturer data, MTCs, test certificates and design-validation documents.
  • Verify tower steel, bolts, reinforcement, cement, aggregates, conductor, earthwire, OPGW, insulators, hardware and accessories.
  • Review quality documentation for GIS, transformers, reactors, switchgear, control and protection panels, HVDC equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Review inspection and test records before recommending material dispatch or site acceptance.
  • Witness or monitor inspections and tests in accordance with approved ITP hold, witness and review points.
  • Conduct quality surveillance of foundation, tower erection, stringing, substation installation and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Raise NCRs, observations and quality alerts for non-conforming work or material.
  • Review root-cause analyses and verify implementation and effectiveness of CAPA.
  • Conduct contractor, subcontractor, vendor and site quality audits.
  • Monitor calibration status of measuring and testing equipment.
  • Maintain quality dashboards, NCR ageing reports and inspection-status registers.
  • Support punch-list close-out, completion dossier review and handover documentation.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and recommend preventive actions and lessons learned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in EHV transmission or substation projects.
  • Knowledge of quality plans, ITPs, method statements, inspection procedures and NCR management.
  • Experience in review of MTCs, routine/type test certificates and vendor quality documentation.
  • Auditor or relevant inspection certification will be preferred.

Additional Information

The position will be site-based at Khavda or Surat and may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary AECOM Energy team supporting the safe and successful delivery of major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects.
