The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Are you looking to work at the forefront of Machine Learning and AI? Would you be excited to apply Generative AI algorithms to solve real world problems with significant impact? In this role, you'll work directly with customers to design, evangelize, implement, and scale AI/ML solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You'll be a key player in driving customer success through their AI transformation journey, providing deep expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Machine Learning Engineer within the AWS Professional Services organization, you will be proficient in architecting complex, scalable, and secure machine learning solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You'll help customers imagine and scope the use cases that will create the greatest value for their businesses, select and train and fine tune the right models, and define paths to navigate technical or business challenges. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll assess current data infrastructure, develop proof-of-concepts, and propose effective strategies for implementing AI and generative AI solutions at scale. You will design and run experiments, research new algorithms, and find new ways of optimizing risk, profitability, and customer experience.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work together with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides assistance through a collection of offerings which help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver focused guidance through our global specialty practices, which cover a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.
Key job responsibilities
A successful candidate will be a person who enjoys diving deep into data, doing analysis, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions. It will be a person who likes to have fun, loves to learn, and wants to innovate in the world of AI. Responsibilities include:
- Understand the customer’s business need and guide them to a solution using our AWS AI Services, AWS AI Platforms, AWS AI Frameworks, and AWS AI EC2 Instances .
- Assist customers by being able to deliver a AI/Ml and GenAI project from beginning to end, including understanding the business need, aggregating data, exploring data, building & validating predictive models, and deploying completed models to deliver business impact to the organization.
- Use Deep Learning frameworks like MXNet, Caffe 2, Tensorflow, Theano, CNTK, and Keras to help our customers build DL models.
- Use SparkML and Amazon Machine Learning (AML) to help our customers build ML models.
- Use Amazon Bedrock and various GenAI Tools to help customers build GenAI Applications.
- Work with our Professional Services Big Data consultants to analyze, extract, normalize, and label relevant data.
- Work with our DevOps consultants to help our customers operationalize models after they are built.
- Assist customers with identifying model drift and retraining models.
A day in the life
This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed.

- 7+ years of IT implementation experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
- 7+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
- 7+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience
- 7+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 1+ years of professional work experience, or experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
- Experience with automation (e.g., Terraform, Python), Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK), and Containers & CI/CD Pipelines
- Experience building applications using GenAI technologies (LLMs, Vector Stores, LangChain, Prompt Engineering)
- Experience building ML pipelines with MLOps best practices, including: data preprocessing, model hosting, feature selection, hyperparameter tuning, distributed & GPU training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining

Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of IT implementation experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
