Position Overview
We are seeking active, detail-oriented, and reliable individuals to join our team as ARC Support Staff. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the physical preparation, cleanliness, and safety of our athletic courts before, during, and after games, tournaments, and public usage. You will act as the eyes and ears on the floor, ensuring equipment is securely set up, rules are followed, and courts remain free of hazards. This position is ideal for sports enthusiasts looking for active, hands-on, part-time work in a dynamic athletic environment. Examples of dutiesKey Responsibilities
- Court Setup & Tear Down: Assemble, adjust, and disassemble sports equipment including basketball hoops, volleyball nets, pickleball nets, player benches, and scoring tables.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform routine court cleaning throughout shifts, including sweeping, dry-mopping hardwood floors, and wiping down high-touch athletic areas.
- Safety Enforcement: Monitor active courts to ensure players follow facility rules, wear proper non-marking footwear, and utilize equipment safely.
- Spill & Hazard Response: Respond immediately to court hazards such as sweat, spilled drinks, or debris to prevent player slips and injuries during intense gameplay.
- Tournament Support: Coordinate with tournament directors and officials to ensure transition times between games run smoothly and on schedule.
- Equipment Inventory: Inspect nets, pads, and balls for wear and tear, and properly store all athletic gear in equipment rooms at the end of the night.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Strong knowledge of sports layouts (e.g., basketball, volleyball, pickleball) to facilitate correct court setups.
- Excellent situational awareness to spot potential safety hazards or rule violations quickly.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate firmly yet politely with players, coaches, and guests.
- Ability to work independently and stay on task without constant direct supervision.
- High physical stamina: Ability to walk, stand, bend, and move constantly for shifts up to 8 hours.
- Heavy lifting capability: Routinely lifting, pushing, and carrying heavy sports equipment or tournament gear weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Dependable transportation to ensure punctual arrival for early morning tournament setups or late-night facility teardowns.
