SummaryBachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance or a related field; three years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational support in the assigned area of responsibility; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Three years of professional experience in budgeting and financial management preferred. Experience in government strategic planning and budgeting methods and accounting principles preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Sound analytical and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are important. Ability to work independently to accurately perform the duties required of this position. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of illegal drugs, and/or the use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited. Employees must not consume or be under the influence of alcohol while on duty, on work premises, or operating agency equipment. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or be a lawful permanent resident eligible for naturalization.

Examples of dutiesSupport the annual budget development process including operational funding needs as well as capital improvement program initiatives. Monitor budgetary allocations and procurement activities for the department including multiple divisions and specialty units. Assist the Finance Operations Managers with projects as required including creating and using complex spreadsheets from research and collaboration with department personnel. Manage multiple fee revenue sources for the department including internal and external programs. Support procurement activities through research and analysis. Prepare and conduct routine reporting functions and review of internal reporting. Perform other work as required. This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications and experience.
