SummaryBachelor’s degree in Intelligence, Strategic Intelligence, Criminal Justice, or a related field; three years of experience in crime analysis and/or police work; three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to competently apply intelligence and analytical principles, provide clear direction, exercise general supervision, and conduct both analytic and strategic intelligence investigations. This position requires knowledge of law enforcement operations and terminology, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and retain information from police incident reports. The role requires considerable skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze statistical information. Familiarity with professional report design software (such as Crystal Reports) is preferred, along with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of illegal drugs, and/or the use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited. Employees must not consume or be under the influence of alcohol while on duty, on work premises, or operating agency equipment. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or be a lawful permanent resident eligible for naturalization.


Examples of duties
The Analytic and Strategic Operations Center seeks a self-motivated, organized, and experienced leader to supervise a team of sworn and professional Intelligence Investigators. The supervisor will manage the daily operations of the Center and ensure that all personnel function as a cohesive unit.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Providing direct supervision of sworn and professional staff assigned as Intelligence Investigators and Drone as a First Responder (DFR) pilots.
  • Reviewing intelligence reports to ensure accuracy, quality, and operational relevance
  • Overseeing the analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of data related to criminal activity, suspect identification, and major crime investigations
  • Preparing, compiling, and disseminating intelligence products
  • Maintaining databases related to criminal offenses, suspect information, and investigative findings
  • Providing real-time intelligence support through various communication platforms, including police radio
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations governing intelligence collection and analysis
  • Mentoring, evaluating, and developing staff to support professional growth and organizational effectiveness
  • Overseeing intelligence investigator training initiatives across the Department
  • Testifying in court as required
  • Preparing and submitting purchase orders, as well as receiving and tracking equipment and supplies
  • Perform other duties as required
