MTSI is seeking to a motivated engineer with experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems and modeling & simulation. The candidate will support a team delivering modeling, simulation, and analytical products of kinetic weapon system concepts for the Missile Defense Agency. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting, high-visibility missile system programs and contribute to innovative solutions for national defense.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
#LI-JJ1
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct performance analysis and provide support for the design, integration, and testing of GNC systems for offensive and defensive missile programs.
- Perform modeling and simulation tasks using 6-DOF simulations to evaluate system behavior, dynamics, and performance under various conditions.
- Develop, modify, and run 6-DOF models to support analysis of guidance, navigation, and control performance.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and refine weapon system concepts using legacy 6-DOF simulations in FORTRAN and C++.
- Develop analytical products, technical reports, and presentations for emerging missile and weapon system concepts supporting DoD programs.
- Contribute to ongoing missile programs by assisting with requirements analysis, scenario development, and corporate modeling tool improvement.
- Help maintain and enhance simulation fidelity, including integration of models from different sources and programming languages.
Qualifications:
- US citizenship and an active secret clearance is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (MS preferred).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in missile systems, aerospace engineering, or related modeling & simulation work.
- Familiarity with 6-DOF simulation models, including topics such as aerodynamics, guidance algorithms, navigation systems, and basic filtering techniques (e.g., Kalman filters).
- Some exposure to modeling and simulation tools, including FORTRAN, C++, MATLAB, and Python.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct system-level and subsystem-level analysis to support requirements development and performance assessment.
- Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and technical communication skills.
