About the Opportunity

Are you a passionate Early Childhood Educator looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families within a welcoming rural Victorian community?

Located in the rural township of Casterton, the Kathleen Millikan Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team and help make a positive difference in the lives of young children.

As part of a small, close-knit farming community on the traditional lands of the Gunditjmara, Boandik and Jardwadjali peoples, our team is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where children, families and educators can thrive.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced and supportive team of educators to create engaging learning environments, contribute to educational programs and help provide high-quality care and education for every child.

What you need to Succeed

• A genuine understanding of and a desire to work with children aged 0 through to kindergarten age.
• A positive outlook and team approach.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships to support children’s learning, wellbeing, independence and development.
• Diploma of Education and Care.
• Current First Aid qualification HLTAID012.
• National Child Safety training
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this this reflects on daily practice.
• Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
• Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
• Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace.
