Lieutenant - (2600063G)Description A Brief Overview
The Lieutenant will oversee daily operations in the absence of the chief of police. Lieutenant is responsible for staff development, policy adherence, regulatory compliance, staff engagement, and creating positive relations with patients.
What You Will Do- Acts in the absence of the Chief of Police
- Accountable for the maintenance of professional standards and integrity throughout the agency.
- Leads Sergeants and other staff in the managing of daily operations.
- Quality Control maintenance by daily review of the Computer Aided Dispatch logs to assure the delivery of quality service.
- Assures policy compliance throughout the agency.
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers.
- Builds and retains a talented and inspired workforce by developing, engaging and empowering personnel to fulfill their potential and the UH vision.
- Collaborates as an integrated team by sharing information and best practices
- Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management
- Accountable for ensuring regulatory standards are achieved
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers.
- Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- 3+ years of Supervisory experience in Protective Services or Private Security (Required)
- Proficient in the use of computers and standard office applications. (Required proficiency)
- Working knowledge of security-related systems and equipment, including radio communications, CCTV, and motor vehicles. (Required proficiency)
- Familiarity with timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos or similar platforms). (Required proficiency)
- Ability and willingness to complete required training and certifications to support departmental operations and compliance. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in both routine and high-pressure situations, with a focus on customer service and professionalism. (Required proficiency)
- Maintains composure and sound judgment in stressful or emergency situations. (Required proficiency)
- Applies job-related knowledge and skills to perform assigned duties effectively and safely. (Required proficiency)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. (Required proficiency)
- Driver's License (Valid) (Required)
- Successful completion of OPOTA Private Security and Firearms Certification (Required within 30 Days)
- Successful completion of an OPOTA Private Security Academy (Preferred)
- First-Line Supervision Training (Required within 1 Year)
- Mid-level Supervision Training (Preferred within 2 Years)
- Must complete Annual Firearm, Taser training (Required)
