Tornado Simulator Instructor Pilot/WSO

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to provide Training to RSAF Tornado pilots, WSOs and instructors
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
To include, but not limited to:
General
• Conduct ground school for all RSAF Tornado courses.
• Conduct Continuation Training lectures and training based on the operational requirements of the aircrew.
• May be selected as Standardisation Evaluation flight Examiner to conduct simulator and other ground evaluations.
• May be required to act as subject matter expert on other associated duties.
• Academic Instructional Duties
• Flight planning, including normal and advanced equipment (Example: FDL and TAMPA).
• Aircraft systems, subsystems, and displays.
• Instructional methodology/technique.
Simulator Instructional Duties
• Brief, conduct, and debrief all missions.
• Mission planning all phases of flight to ensure successful mission execution, including desired tactics and employment options/techniques for all flight phases.
• Operate associated simulators and cockpit trainers to include egress training.
• Train selected RSAF personnel to become qualified as simulator instructors.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
• Tornado flight lead Pilot/Weapons System Operator, and more than 250 hours of previous instructor time in any fighter aircraft.
• More than 1,000 hours total fighter time as a combat-ready Pilot/Weapon System Operator.
• Must be a graduate of the RAF Academic Instructor Course or equivalent.
Desirable
• Other professional military aviation related qualifications (including but not limited to supervisory/authorisation, flight/formation lead, weapons instructor, aviation safety, human factors).
