The Role:
We are seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to support the development, evaluation and optimisation of advanced optoelectronic devices, including semiconductor lasers, modulators and photodiodes.
In this role, you will conduct functional and physical failure analysis, contribute to the design of test methods and equipment, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams across chip design, wafer fabrication, process engineering, quality and reliability.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting functional and physical failure analysis of optoelectronic and semiconductor devices.
- Supporting product development through detailed device evaluation and technical investigation.
- Designing, building and improving test setups with a particular focus on failure analysis.
- Contributing technical insights throughout the product design and development process.
- Supporting product optimisation during the manufacturing phase.
- Producing clear and accurate technical reports and documentation.
- Identifying and evaluating new techniques, tools and methodologies relevant to failure analysis.
- Working closely with on-site teams across chip design, wafer fabrication, process engineering, quality and reliability.
- Communicating findings clearly and supporting effective root-cause analysis and problem resolution.
About You:
You have a strong technical background in semiconductor or optoelectronic devices and enjoy solving complex technical problems through structured analysis and experimentation.
You will also have:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in optoelectronic or semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, material analysis or electrical engineering.
- Technical expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Test and measurement techniques for semiconductor or optoelectronic devices.
- Analytical techniques for material analysis.
- Semiconductor fabrication processes.
- A broad understanding of electronics, solid-state physics, material science or semiconductor devices.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
Proficiency in Swedish would be advantageous.
