Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer (or Electrical Officer) is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the comprehensive maintenance of all onboard electrical and electronic systems. This technical role involves executing UMS test schedules, managing alarm systems, and performing first-level maintenance on critical communication, radio, and navigation equipment. Additionally, the officer provides vital support during cargo operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of electrical cargo-handling machinery.
