Job RequirementsKey Requirements & Responsibilities
1. Deep Reliability Engineering Expertise
• Minimum 10+ years of hands on experience in reliability engineering, covering:
o Reliability modeling and prediction
o Reliability strategy and planning
o Accelerated and destructive reliability testing
o Reliability failure analysis and corrective action
o Reliability calculations such as FIT, MTTF, MTBF
o Statistical analysis (e.g., Weibull analysis, chi square methods, basic Bayesian concepts)
• Strong ability to connect test data, field data, and engineering judgment to drive data based reliability decisions.
2. Reliability Strategy & Test Plan Ownership
• Independently define and lead end to end reliability strategies aligned with:
o Product architecture, materials, and operating environments
o Customer Reliability Requirements and mission profiles
o Industry standards and best practices
• Create and own reliability test plans (e.g., HALT, HAST, ALT, Test to Failure) that balance technical risk, development timelines, cost, and business impact.
3. New Product Development (NPI) Lifecycle Knowledge
• Strong understanding of structured new product development processes.
• Ability to tailor reliability activities to each development phase, including:
o Concept and feasibility
o Design verification
o Product validation
o Release to manufacturing
• Define appropriate test coverage, sample size, duration, and success criteria at each stage.
4. Cross Functional & Customer Engagement
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Effectively partner with customers to align on reliability expectations, test strategies, and risk assessments.
• Influence and collaborate with cross functional teams including:
o R&D / Design Engineering
o Manufacturing & Process Engineering
o Quality & Supplier Quality
o Product/Project Management
• Clearly communicate reliability risks, trade offs, test results, and recommendations to technical and non technical stakeholders.
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
