The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Surgery - Gen Surg Trauma Section, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.
General Responsibilities
To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance. Working to conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Responsible for assisting with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits, and assisting in the coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Responsible for collecting and documenting data for clinical research programs.
Assists with recruiting and performs follow-up with research participants as protocols outline. Assisting with scheduling visits according to research protocols, participating in and assisting with the coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Will be required to assist in compiling, editing, and proofreading written reports for both internal and external administrative offices.
Responsible for working to coordinate appointments for additional procedures as necessary and needed.
Prepares for and participates in study monitoring visits.
Assists other coordinators with correcting findings.
Participates in study meetings and conference calls. Along with assisting with the completion of Case Report Forms (CRF) according to protocol.
Assists with the development of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data.
Performs other administrative duties in support of research conduction as needed.
Responsible for assisting and preparing source documentation for review with investigators.
Responsible for using Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems necessary for operations under minimal supervision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320
QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
Prior experience with hands-on interaction, assessment, and treatment of patients, commonly found in hospitals and clinics.
Along with knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, medical technology, and electronic data capture experience.
