Maintenance Molding Supervisor I is responsible for owning and executing the molding maintenance system that supports production. This role oversees molding machine preventive maintenance, mold maintenance, shot-count control, mold cleaning schedules, spare and mold readiness, daily inspections, and repair history management. The position ensures molds and molding machines are production-ready, maintenance activities are properly documented, abnormalities are effectively escalated, and recurring molding issues are converted into preventive actions that improve equipment reliability, product quality, and production stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own molding machine preventive maintenance (PM) execution and maintenance compliance.
- Ensure molding machine readiness before production start through routine inspections.
- Control maintenance activities, repair recovery, and equipment restart validation.
- Manage mold PM plans, shot-count monitoring, and periodic maintenance schedules.Maintain mold condition, storage standards, and spare part readiness.
- Track mold life, overhaul requirements, and abnormal mold status control.
- Support investigation and resolution of molding-related quality and process issues.
- Drive preventive actions to reduce recurring defects, downtime, and equipment failures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair history, and audit evidence.Coordinate cross-functional support and escalate critical maintenance issues to ensure production stability.
Education
- Diploma, Higher Vocational Certificate, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in molding maintenance, equipment maintenance, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in electronics, automotive, connector, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Experience supervising technicians or leading maintenance activities is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, preventive maintenance systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience in managing PM schedules, equipment downtime, repair records, and maintenance documentation.
- Understanding of mold maintenance, shot-count control, and equipment reliability practices.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Ability to use measurement and inspection tools.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of production setup and changeover processes.
