ABOUT THE JOB

At Rainbow Pizza, a Domino's Pizza franchisee, our Delivery Drivers are more than just drivers—they're the face of our company. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, providing outstanding customer service, and being on the road, we'd love to have you join our team.

As a Delivery Driver, you'll safely deliver hot, fresh orders to our customers while helping ensure our stores operate efficiently. When you're not making deliveries, you'll assist with food preparation, customer service, stocking, cleaning, and other in-store tasks. Every team member plays an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Applicants must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance with their name listed on the policy, and a safe driving record.

We offer flexible scheduling with both daytime and evening shifts available. Whether you're looking for one shift per week or a full-time schedule, we'll work with you to find hours that fit your lifestyle.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering customer orders safely, accurately, and on time.

  • Providing outstanding customer service during every delivery.

  • Operating the Domino's Point of Sale (POS) system.

  • Answering phones and taking customer orders.

  • Preparing pizzas and other menu items according to company standards.

  • Stocking ingredients and supplies.

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Operating store equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Completing daily cleaning tasks and required paperwork.

  • Using a personal vehicle to complete deliveries while following all traffic laws and company safety standards.

  • Navigating delivery routes efficiently using maps or GPS.

Training

Paid, on-the-job training is provided. Training includes:

  • Customer service and order taking.

  • Operating the POS system.

  • Food preparation and pizza making.

  • Safe driving and delivery procedures.

  • Food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Company policies and store operations.

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to accurately process customer orders both in person and over the phone.

Essential Skills

  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately.

  • Ability to handle cash and make correct change.

  • Basic computer and touchscreen skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle while following traffic laws.

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, carry, and move throughout the shift, including carrying customer orders.

Qualifications

Delivery Driver Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must have a valid driver's license:

    • At least 2 years of licensed driving experience, or

    • 1 year of licensed driving experience if you are 19 years of age or older (learner's permit time counts toward this requirement).

  • Must have valid auto insurance, and your name must be listed as an insured driver on the policy.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Additional Information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, including, but not limited to the following:

Standing

Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile "bricks" with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36" and 4".

Walking

For short distances for short durations

Sitting

Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table

Lifting

· Bulk product deliveries are made twice a week or more and are unloaded by the team member using a hand truck.

· Deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds with dimensions of up to 3' x 1.5'.

· Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.

Carrying

· Large cans, weighing 3 pounds, 7 ounces, are carried from the workstation to storage shelves.

· Occasionally, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds is carried from the storage room to the front of the store.

· Trays of pizza dough are carried three at a time over short distances, and weigh approximately 12 pounds per tray.

Pushing

· To move trays which are placed on dollies.

· A stack of trays on a dolly is approximately 24" - 30" and requires a force of up to 7.5 pounds to push.

· Trays may also be pulled.

Climbing

Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.

Stooping/Bending

· Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station.

· Toe room is present, but workers are unable to flex their knees while standing at this station.

· Duration of this position is approximately 30 - 45 seconds at one time, repeated continuously during the day.

· Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.

Crouching/Squatting

Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.

Reaching

· Reaching is performed continuously; up, down and forward.

· Workers reach above 72" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves.

· Workers reaching down to perform such tasks as scooping cornmeal from a plastic barrel, or washing dishes.

· Workers reach forward when obtaining topping ingredients, cleaning work surfaces, or answering phones.

Hand Tasks

· Eye-hand coordination is essential. Use of hands is continuous during the day.

· Frequently activities require use of one or both hands. Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists.

· Workers must manipulate a pizza peel when removing pizza from the oven, and when using the rolling cutter.

· Frequent and/or forceful pinching is required in the assembly of cardboard pizza boxes.

· Team Members must be able to grasp cans, the phone, the pizza cutter and pizza peel, and pizza boxes.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids

Team Members may be required to utilize pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter and pizza peel.
