What You'll Do
Avalara is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist with proven expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract lifecycle management, and end-to-end procure-to-pay (P2P) operations. The individual contributor role involves leading vendor deals from sourcing to negotiations to execution while ensuring competitive prices and balancing risks.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Develop sourcing strategies using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, market benchmarking, and spend analytics for assigned categories.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while driving vendor performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment terms, and service level agreements to achieve measurable cost savings.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle including onboarding, compliance reviews, renewals, amendments, and supplier governance.
- Drive procurement process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
- Resolve supplier escalations, delivery issues, quality concerns, and payment disputes while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
- Maintain procurement documentation, audit readiness, and ERP data accuracy.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.
- 7+ years of Procurement, Vendor Management, and Procure-to-Pay experience.
- Hands-on experience with ZIP, Netsuite, IronClad and Docusign.
- Strong expertise in RFx management, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and P2P processes.
- Knowledge of procurement governance, supplier lifecycle management, and contract administration.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success delivering cost savings, procurement transformation, and cross-functional collaboration.
