What You'll Do
Overview
Avalara is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager (India) to lead offshore strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost optimization for spend categories less than $250K. This role partners with Finance, IT, Legal, Security, and business stakeholders to drive procurement excellence, negotiate commercial agreements, and implement governance practices that maximize value while minimizing risk.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for SaaS, Staff Augmentation, Professional Services and indirect spend categories.
- Manage end-to-end procurement workflow including sourcing, RFx, negotiations, contracting, and renewals for up to $250K spend.
- Analyze software spend, licensing, utilization, and renewals to identify savings opportunities.
- Lead vendor negotiations and supplier relationship management.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, IT, Security, Privacy, Accounts Payable, and business stakeholders to ensure procurement compliance and timely approvals.
- Manage vendor onboarding, contract governance, DPAs, supplier performance reviews, and procurement documentation.
- Maintain accurate contract metadata and procurement documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and software asset planning.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, SOP development, escalation management, and stakeholder support across global procurement operations.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and internal controls.
- Support Travel & Expense procurement, vendor partnerships, and corporate travel cost optimization.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.
- MBA or CIPS/CPSM/ISM certification preferred.
- 15+ years of Procurement, Vendor Management, and Procure-to-Pay experience.
- Hands-on experience with ZIP, Netsuite, Concur, IronClad and Docusign.
- Minimum 5 years managing software, SaaS, cloud, or technology procurement.
- Strong knowledge of procurement governance, supplier lifecycle management, and contract administration.
Proven negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
