ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're seeking a passionate Team Leader to oversee our accommodation services across Melton and Ballarat. Leading dedicated residential support teams, you'll play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming spaces where women experiencing family violence and homelessness can begin their journey toward recovery, stability, and independence. Your leadership will help ensure women experiencing crisis have the stability, dignity, and support they need to move forward with confidence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Accommodation Services: Oversee safe, effective day-to-day operations across Melton and Ballarat.
- Manage Safety & Risk: Respond to complex client needs while ensuring site safety, compliance, and wellbeing.
- Coordinate Access & Occupancy: Support referrals, intake, occupancy, and service delivery targets.
- Champion Best Practice: Drive trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and family violence-informed support.
- Promote Inclusive Support: Foster culturally safe, client-centred, and child-focused practice.
- Lead & Support Staff: Provide supervision, coaching, and practice guidance to residential teams.
- Drive Quality Outcomes: Oversee rostering, reporting, and continuous service improvement.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Please note, we are only considering female identifying candidates for this position. McAuley Community Services for Women has an exemption to gender equality requirements.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
- Sector Knowledge: Understanding of family violence, homelessness, MARAM, Family Violence Protection Act, and Child Safe Standards.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and support teams working with women and children experiencing complex challenges.
- Practice Approach: Commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive, empowering, and non-judgemental practice.
- Communication Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and sound decision-making in risk management situations.
- Values Alignment: Commitment to McAuley's values of Community, Hospitality, Compassion, and Justice.
- Feminist Practice: Understanding of feminist, intersectional, and anti-oppressive frameworks.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to regularly travel between Melton and Ballarat.
