The Studio
EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to provide outstanding visuals, audio and technology. Our teams consist of artists, engineers, technicians, designers and development directors. Worldwide, we combine our teams to form a global group of extraordinary individuals fueled by imagination, creating amazing visuals, sound and experiences. The Role
Join EA's Create Audio team to support Battlefield development teams. Reporting to the Audio Director you will create high-quality sound effects in the Battlefield Single Player Campaign and work with the development team to ensure that all audio elements are implemented and enhance the player experience. You will understand and embrace the challenge of balancing high-quality sound design with the demands of development for a major global IP. This will be a contract position. This is not a music composition role
What We Are Looking For (Responsibilities)
Follow and support the Audio Direction and understand how each piece fits into and supports a readable, high-quality soundscape
Create assets and implementation workflows that live up to the creative and technical aspirations.
Ask for and act on feedback concerning your work. Also provide feedback within the sound team, with a focus on audio execution.
Help support the game's narrative through storytelling in your audio design
Work together with other disciplines to provide a cohesive experience between Audio and other crafts.
Implement your work into the game using the Frostbite engine.
Contribute with creative and technical solutions to constantly improve the audio experience in our game. Help improve workflows and processes.
Utilise your creative voice to create satisfying and original audio to delight our players.
Refine content and its underlying logic through playtesting and feedback sessions to ensure it meets quality standards and serves its intended purpose.
What You Bring (Requirements)
3+ years experience as a Sound Designer working in the Games industry.
BA, BSc, or equivalent work experience in Sound Design, Music Production or Recording Arts.
Knowledge of audio theory and sound design practices; includes knowledge of waveform editing, equalisation, compression, mixing and plug-ins.
Proficiency with audio software DAWs; such as Reaper, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Sound Forge, Cubase, Logic.
Proficiency with audio plug in software such as Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, and Soundtoys
Proficiency working with surround formats (e.g: 5.1)
Experience or knowledge of audio game development tools, such as Wwise, FMOD, or other proprietary Editors.
Technical proficiency. Knowledge or experience with any visual scripting programme is beneficial (such as Reaktor, Max, Pure Data, UDK).
Commitment to improving your skills as a Sound Designer.
Experience with learning and sharing, trying to find new ways to improve the Audio in our games.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES * British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$77,700 - $107,900 CAD
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
