Project Overview:

Mining and Metals: 

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before. 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop design for electrical engineering such as single lines, electrical layouts, installation drawings, lighting, lightning protection systems, ground grids, raceway and underground drawings. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Developing designs for complete and complex Electrical engineering deliverables such as single lines, electrical layouts, installation drawings, lighting, lightning, ground grid, raceway and underground, detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are developed. 
  • Assisting in constructing detailed scale models. 
  • Ensuring compliance with approved Electrical design standards, installation codes, and Chilean and International regulations (ANSI/IEC) in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design 
  • Reviewing and checking calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion  
  • Participating- in constructability reviews 
  • Posses responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline 
  • Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements 
  • Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models of high complexity with minimal guidance from others 
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 1-3 years of relevant experience. 

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • (Essential) Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards, design criteria, guidelines and procedures and codes relevant to the electrical discipline. 
  • (Essential) Microstation or AutoCAD skills 3D modeling.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team for EPC/EPCM projects.  
  • Proficient in electrical discipline with the ability to solve a wide range of problems.  
  • (Desirable) Intermediate level of English.
