Join our Human Resources team as an HR Technician II and make a meaningful impact across our organization! In this role, you'll help keep our HR operations running smoothly by maintaining accurate employee records, coordinating onboarding and offboarding, and supporting a variety of HR programs and services. As a member of the Human Resources Solutions Center (HRSC)the City's Tier 1 HR Service Center, you'll provide frontline support for employees and managers while administering Tier 1 HR services across the Human Resources Centers of Excellence, including Benefits, Recruiting, Organizational Development, Employee Relations and HR Business Partners, and Compensation.

Work Schedule: In office, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

As an HR Technician II, you will: 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume HR environment by assisting employees, applicants, and managers through walk-ins, phone, and email inquiries while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness under tight deadlines.
  • Support all phases of the employee lifecycle by processing HR transactions, coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities, and ensuring timely completion of pre-employment and onboarding tasks. 
  • Maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and related systems, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and accurate personnel records.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions by providing information on available programs, enrollment processes, qualifying life events, and available resources, while ensuring timely follow-up and exceptional customer service.
  • Exercise sound judgment, tact, and discretion when handling confidential employee information while serving as a trusted resource on HR processes, policies, procedures, and employment-related inquiries.
  • Prepare HR reports, support audits, maintain desk manuals and standard operating procedures, and assist with departmental projects and continuous process improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Examples of duties
  • Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of full-time experience in human resources.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
