SummaryThe Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is looking for a full-time Crossing Guard Assistant Supervisor to join our team. The position is located within the Operations Support Division at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Headquarters Building.Examples of dutiesUnder the general direction of the designated manager, supervises Crossing Guards for the Sheriff's Office. This position interviews potential guards; creates weekly schedules; reviews time sheets; orders uniforms; ensures Guards have all needed equipment; oversees completion of training requirements; tracks daily activities; teaches Safety Patrol in schools; and conducts pedestrian/traffic studies for schools.
Other Job Functions:
- Assists with the supervision of the Crossing Guard Unit; ensures equipment assigned to the Crossing Guards is in working order.
- Reviews time sheets for accuracy; tracks staff overtime.
- Ensures efficient and effective use of County equipment and property, in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Alters work schedule to ensure staffing coverage to meet service demands.
- Ensures compliance with established General Orders and County policies and procedures.
- Supervises Crossing Guards.
- Oversees completion of all E-Learning, MOAT, and any other electronic requirements for the Guards.
- Assists in traffic control as needed at crossing; directs traffic with whistles and hand signals.
- Maintains an eye on and directs traffic for cars and buses entering and exiting school parking lot as needed.
- Sets up and takes down cones and other signage for traffic control.
- Observes traffic.
- Communicates with school office upon arrival/departure and as needed via radio.
- Assists in traffic control at special events as directed by competent authority.
- Reports hazardous conditions at student crossing locations.

Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records reviewed annually for continued qualification). Desire CPR certification. Take required e-learning and on-site training.
