Senior Operations Safety Officer (Ref : 260000JU)

Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage operations safety systems within Hong Kong Transport Service Business Unit (HKTS), conduct safety analyses, provide professional advice on operational safety matters, and drive the implementation of safety education and promotional programmes
• Lead and coordinate passenger safety promotion and education initiatives, support internal safety campaigns, and foster a strong safety culture across the organization
• Plan, organize and monitor smoke tests to verify ventilation system performance, prepare test reports, and ensure timely completion of follow-up improvement actions
• Support effective communication and incident reporting between EMSD-RB and HKTS Business Units, and provide secretarial and professional support to safety committees, working groups and task forces
• Monitor and report the progress of corrective actions arising from incident reviews, while supervising subordinates in passenger claim handling, safety data management, and the preparation of safety reports
• Review and analyze internal and external safety incidents, share lessons learned with colleagues, and support safety enforcement exercises and other initiatives to drive continuous improvement in railway operational safety

• Degree in business management, engineering, science or a related discipline
• A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in railway operations or transportation industry of which 3 years should be at supervisory level
• Possession of Chartered Membership of Institute of Logistics and Transport or equivalent is an advantage
• Good interpersonal, communication analytical and report-writing skills
