We are looking for a ATE Engineer – SmarTest 8 / Advantest V93000.
As an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Test Engineer, you will be an active member of an Agile Scrum/Kanban team responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving software and hardware test strategies for SmarTest 8 on the Advantest V93000 (V93K) Tester Platform.
This role requires a unique combination of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) expertise and software development skills. You will work closely with product owners, developers, test engineers, and global teams to validate new platform capabilities, enhance test coverage, develop automation solutions, and contribute to the quality and reliability of Advantest test systems. In addition to ATE and semiconductor testing knowledge, hands-on experience in Java, Python, test automation, and software development practices is essential.
The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of experience in ATE, semiconductor test engineering, and software development, with hands-on expertise in Advantest V93000, SmarTest 8, Java, Python, and test automation frameworks. The role offers the opportunity to work across test strategy, automation, CI/CD integration, validation, debugging, and quality improvements for next-generation semiconductor test solutions.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the current SmarTest 8 test strategy, including test coverage methodologies, validation processes, and reporting mechanisms. Continuously assess and improve test effectiveness and coverage.
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and utilities using technologies such as Java, Python, and scripting languages to improve test efficiency, scalability, and quality.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Offline Result Emulation (ORE) solutions, supporting device deployment within CI/CD pipelines and monitoring SmarTest application performance.
- Work with customer device programs on the Advantest V93000 platform, adapting and validating test solutions across diverse semiconductor applications.
- Execute online and offline testing activities, including data collection, analysis, debugging, and validation of test results.
- Analyze, understand, adapt, and optimize test methods. Identify opportunities for improvement, implement modifications, and validate changes to ensure accuracy, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Execute predefined test plans and procedures during system-level validation, regression testing, and release cycles.
- Validate new software features of SmarTest 8 and hardware capabilities of the Advantest V93K platform, including exploratory testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to understand platform enhancements and convert requirements into effective test plans and validation strategies.
- Work with subcontractors and global teams to implement testing strategies and increase automation coverage.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvements in development, testing, and delivery processes.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience in the ATE domain, preferably with the Advantest V93000 (V93K) platform.
- Good knowledge of Advantest V93000 SmartScale and EXA Scale systems and SmarTest 8 applications (SmarTest 7 knowledge is an advantage).
- Hands-on software development experience using Java and Python.
- Experience with test automation framework development, automation tools, and scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or TCL.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), software design principles, and coding best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Experience in test method development, adaptation, debugging, and assessment.
- Good experience in semiconductor test data analysis using tools such as Exensio, Optimal+, or similar platforms.
- Ability to understand complex test methodologies and troubleshoot issues across software and hardware environments.
- Experience using source code management and collaborative development tools such as Git.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-driven team player with strong collaboration skills, emotional intelligence, and a results-oriented mindset.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in an Agile team
- Good knowledge of development and collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
- Understanding of semiconductor testing business processes and emerging ATE technologies.
- Knowledge of Agile project and workflow management practices.
- Good working knowledge of RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
- Experience developing data analysis, reporting, or visualization solutions using Python and related libraries.
Preferred Profile:
