We are looking for a talented HSE Project Specialist - Europe Powergen to join our team specializing in Health and Safety in Krakow, Malopolskie, Poland
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead health, safety and environmental projects from identification through implementation, using data, risk insights and continuous improvement methods to reduce risk and improve performance.
- Partner with project managers, site teams, engineering functions and key stakeholders to ensure HSE requirements are embedded throughout PowerGen project execution.
- Support installation, commissioning and delivery activities by ensuring Cummins standards and local European regulatory requirements are understood and consistently applied.
- Lead project-specific HSE risk management, including review of RAMS, JSA equivalents, dynamic risk assessments and control measures for high-risk activities.
- Verify site readiness before and during execution, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for work such as lifting operations, electrical work, confined space entry and permit-to-work activities.
- Support contractor management across European project sites by leading onboarding, HSE induction and ongoing performance monitoring for contract HSE and field personnel.
- Use HSE performance metrics, audit findings, incident investigations and legal compliance results to identify gaps, prioritize improvements and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
- Influence a positive HSE culture by coaching teams, supporting formal training, encouraging employee participation and promoting practical solutions that protect people and the environment.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong project management capability, including the ability to manage scope, schedules, resources, costs, risks and stakeholder expectations across multiple project locations.
- Practical experience applying HSE management systems, incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessment and performance measurement in operational or field-based environments.
- Confidence working across functions, cultures and geographies, with the ability to build trust, persuade stakeholders and align teams around common HSE goals.
- Willingness and ability to travel across European project sites. Travel requirements may exceed 50% during peak project execution
- Education/ Experience:
- College, university or equivalent degree required; a degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline is preferred.
- Professional HSE certification required, such as NEBOSH Construction, NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience required, including team leadership, project management and support for construction, installation or field execution activities.
- Experience in PowerGen, energy, industrial or infrastructure project environments preferred, including contractor onboarding, field-based HSE oversight and exposure to European regulatory frameworks.
