SummaryReporting to the Office of Accessibility (OA) Director, the Test Center Operations Manager ensures efficient day-to-day operations of the OA Test Center and acts as a liaison between students, faculty and the Office of Accessibility.- Provides leadership for the Test Center through oversight and supervision of all activities and services.
- Establishes program goals and maximizes Test Center revenue, as approved by supervisor.
- Implements best practices and provides excellent customer service for internal and external clients.
- Trains staff, students and faculty on Test Center policies and procedures, as well as the use of test request and proctoring software.
- Consults with Director, faculty and staff regarding testing-related issues and concerns and serves as liaison between faculty and students.
- Coordinates and schedules testing.
- Works with supervisor to develop Test Center best practices for students, faculty and staff.
- Manages assistive technology hardware and software, including the loaning of technology to students.
- Coordinates distance learning and standardized test proctoring.
- Collects testing parameters and materials needed to proctor.
- Trains staff to administer tests in compliance with National Test Center Certification and National College Testing Association standards.
- Maintains records in compliance with FERPA.
- Supervises and coordinates the hiring, training and supervision of the Test Center Assistant and temporary Test Center employees.
- Allocates personnel resources to optimize delivery of services.
- Mentors employees and facilitates professional development.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues.
- Works closely with IT and other departments to ensure the Test Center has access to the technology it needs to operate efficiently and effectively.
- Makes presentations on Test Center services, serves on committees, and represents the Office of Accessibility, as assigned by supervisor.
Examples of duties
- Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree and two years of experience in higher education and/or test proctoring.
- Program management experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Sec. 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as it pertains to accommodations within a higher education setting.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to successfully plan and manage multiple priorities/activities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Sufficient computer skills to master required hardware and software and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, flexibility and diplomacy in interpreting department policies and procedures.
- Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the general public.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
Supplemental informationTravel/Overtime Requirements: Occasional after-hours and weekend work.
Annual Salary/Hiring Range: $41,500; actual salary depends on qualifications.
