This position is assigned to the Adams County Detention Facility.

This person will perform a variety of criminal justice and corrections duties related to Pretrial Release, Pretrial Supervision, Classifications, Inmate Workers, Work Release, Time Computation, and State Offenders.

This is an essential position in a 24/7 environment.  Employees must be able to work rotating shifts in each area.  Hours vary by assignment. To include holidays,  weekends and overnight shifts.

Examples of duties
  • Process and manage inmates through the following units: Pretrial, Classifications, Time Computation/State Offender, Supervised Release and Work Release/Inmate Worker.
  • Conduct interviews, assessments, verifications for housing placement, alternative sentencing, work programs in the facility, inmate placement, and program eligibility.
  • Maintain accurate records of inmate status, sentencing information, and program participation within database systems. 
  • Calculate and verify inmate release dates and ensure compliance with court mittimus and sentencing orders.
  • Monitor inmate compliance and progress in court-ordered programs and prepare compliance/noncompliance reports.
  • Coordinate with courts, law enforcement agencies, and external partners regarding inmate status, detainers, and transfers. 
  • Conduct orientations, office visits, and field checks for program participants, including work release and supervised release. 
  • Perform administrative functions including data entry, statistical reporting, and documentation of inmate activity.
  • Interview incoming inmates, provide Colorado Pretrial Assessment Tool (CPAT), prepare court docket and other duties as required. 
  • Performs other duties as required. 
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor inmate compliance with court-ordered conditions and custody requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Corrections, Social Services, or related field OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field. 
  • Experience in interviewing techniques, procedures and ability to verify information received.
  • Experience in criminal justice, corrections, or case management functions preferred. 
  • Valid Driver’s License. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CCIC/NCIC Level J certification. 
  • Must be 21 years of age.
