The incumbent for this position will serve as administrative support for the Indian Creek Recreation Area of the Office of Forestry, Department of Agriculture and Forestry. This recreation area is visited annually by over 300,000 people for its recreational facilities such as camping, boating, hiking, picnicking, and swimming. Supervision is received by the Administrative Program Manager 1. Examples of dutiesOne year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Takes reservations over the phone or in person; assists customers with on-line reservation system.
Checks in patrons, collects fees, and explains the rules and regulations of the recreation area.
Receives payments, both cash and credit cards.
Distributes tickets (day passes) for visitors and campers.
Completes registration forms for golf carts; ensures all drivers are registered and meet eligibility requirements.
Closes out the register and the end of the day; ensures monies are secure.
Takes inventory of rental equipment; ensures all equipment is secure and in proper working order.
Files documents and operates office equipment, such as a computer, copier, and facsimile machine.
Assists in monitoring the recreation area to ensure campers are on the correct site or vacate the site within approved time frames.
Performs other duties as assigned
Functional Requirements:
Moderate light lifting, 30 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
Walking and standing (8 hours)
Climbing stairs and occasionally ladders
Occasional bending or kneeling
Lifting items such as tools, a computer, a scanner, luggage, or other items used to travel and perform duties/attend class throughout the state
Drive a vehicle to perform duties at sites throughout the state
Occasional demands may be required for moderately strenuous activities in emergencies over long periods of time
Working with or operating hand, electrical, or power tools
Operating and climbing on and off transport, tractor or ATV
Environmental Factors:
Occasional excessive heat and humidity
Working indoors and outdoors
Occasionally working in moderately cold temperatures for short periods of time
Frequently required to wear appropriate safety protection
Exposed to chemicals, fertilizers, and other agricultural materials
Will be required to wear appropriate safety protection/clothing
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: WAE - Not to exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period.
Compensation: The hourly rate offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
