Transportation Aide (Bus #28 Evening Run)

Description:

1. Provide individual or small group instruction under the supervision of teacher
2. Provide students with individualized attention
3. Assist in grading assignments and recording grades
4. Set up and operate equipment for instruction
5. Help teacher prepare materials for instruction
6. Assist teacher with bus duty in escorting students to and from the bus
7. Provide library assistance to students
8. Assist with preparing snacks for students as needed
9. Remain aware and alert of medication administered to students
10. Assist in lifting, feeding, toileting, and changing clothes of special needs students
11. Assist and supervise special needs students in a regular classroom setting
12. Modify materials and instructional activities for special needs students
13. Secure students in car seats, seat belts, harnesses, etc., while in transport
14. Secure wheelchairs safely for transport
15. Assist students as instructed in physical therapy activities
16. Practice good safety habits and have knowledge of basic first aid
17. Help maintain an up-to-date inventory
18. Perform clerical duties such as filing and typing for classroom purposes
19. Possess strong oral and written communication skills
20. Maintain familiarity with personnel policies and procedures
21. Be proficient in the use of basic computer operations
22. Maintain confidentiality

Qualifications:

1. Currently hold or previously held classification of Aide, or passage of state competency exam for Aide
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:
Shift: evening bus run 3:30-5:30
