The Clean Sweep driver is responsible for servicing assigned route(s) while operating a motorized
street sweeper to clean streets and other LRS customers within the Clean Sweep Division. The driver
represents the company in a safe and respectable manner while servicing customer accounts
dispatched to him/her throughout the day and communicating regularly with dispatchers and
supervisors.
Essential Job Duties:
• Operate the truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
and company policies
• Clean streets, gutters, and other assigned areas (parking lots, construction sites, etc.)
• Complete assigned routes
• Communicate with dispatch as route changes or issues arise
• Maintain and update route sheets
• Conduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspections
• Maintain and update drivers log sheets
• Professional interaction with internal and external customers
• Keeping truck clean and operating properly within driver’s ability
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Performs physically demanding waste collection duties, including lifting and moving heavy
materials, operating collection vehicles, and servicing assigned routes in varying weather and
environmental conditions. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and twisting, safe operation of
equipment, and adherence to safety protocols while working around traffic, noise, and potential
hazards.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Ability to read and understand a map
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job such as prolonged physical exertions
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays
• Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and
professionally with internal and external customers
• Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location,
department, or line of business
• Eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire
• Must not have any DUI’s or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
• Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond
to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
Education & Experience:
• Previous CDL truck driving experience preferred
• Waste industry experience is a plus
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching to collect garbage.
• Long hours of driving, often in congested or hazardous conditions.
• Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• High noise levels from trucks and machinery.
• Potential exposure to hazardous materials and unpleasant odors.
• May be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
