Position Context: The Standard & Standard Parts Management Manager will lead the engineering team responsible for driving part standardization, complexity reduction, and technical governance across all vehicle programs. This role is critical in optimizing Bill of Materials (BOM) cost, improving manufacturing efficiency, and establishing company-wide engineering standards for fasteners, clips, and general hardware. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in mechanical integration with strong leadership and cross-functional orchestration capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Standardization Roadmap

    • Define and execute management, development, and standardization of standard components/parts such as bolts, nuts, plastic clips, etc., used across multiple projects

    • Perform technical assessments for standard part development

    • Evaluate technical solutions, manufacturability, feasibility, and risks during the development and trial phases

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Standard Parts Engineers

    • Participate in the establishment and continuous improvement of standard part management processes and related technical standards

  • Engineering Change & Lifecycle Management:

    • Oversee and govern the DCR (Design Change Request) and ECR (Engineering Change Request) processes related to standard parts, coordinating with relevant departments to handle engineering changes

    • Lead critical change management reviews to minimize cost impacts and manufacturing disruptions

  • Supplier & Purchasing Collaboration (Cost Optimization):

    • Partner with Global Purchasing/Procurement to identify strategic suppliers, support supplier technical audits, and drive Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to optimize BOM costs

    • Resolve high-level technical disputes or quality bottlenecks with tier-1 suppliers during trial and SOP (Start of Production) phases.

    • Coordinate and communicate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers during trial and SOP phases

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Engineering, Automation, or related technical fields. • At least 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, related to mechanical design and mechanical integration, with experience  in a leadership/managerial role leading mechanical/component design or standardization teams. • Strong technical mindset with good analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to build a long-term career in a manufacturing and engineering environment. • Good command of English.
