Associate Construction Manager - (Job Number: 260001MH) Description
- Assist in managing the construction execution of OHTL projects from mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinate all site construction activities, including foundation works, tower erection, conductor stringing, testing, and project close-out.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
- Monitor construction progress and support the implementation of recovery plans when required.
- Assist in achieving project milestones while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Coordinate daily construction activities with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Liaise with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, and HSE departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support resource planning, including manpower, equipment, materials, and logistics.
- Participate in project coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Resolve day-to-day site issues and escalate critical matters to the Construction Manager.
- Supervise foundation construction, tower assembly, tower erection, conductor and OPGW stringing, earthing works, and associated civil works.
- Ensure construction works comply with approved engineering designs and client requirements.
- Verify work completion before inspection requests.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity and performance.
- Ensure timely completion of punch-list items.
- Ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC engineers and client representatives.
- Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective actions.
- Ensure all construction records and as-built documentation are maintained.
- Promote a strong safety culture on site.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, and local regulations.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Ensure safe lifting operations, working at height, and stringing activities.
- Report and investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress.
- Support the preparation of construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
- Identify project risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Submit regular progress reports to the Construction Manager.
- Monitor resource utilization and construction productivity.
- 8–12 years of experience in EPC construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) construction.
- Experience in projects ranging from 132kV to 500kV (or higher) is preferred.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Experience working with utility clients and international EPC contractors is an advantage.
